Fishing tips in Cornwall

Throughout Cornwall there are some superb rivers where once you have the necessary licence can spend a whole day if you want fishing.  Of course you can spend your hours just sitting on the river bank hoping for a bite.  But you may find it more profitable if you choose to wade out in the river.

So in order to help you increase your chances of catching the big one we offer some tips below that could increase the amount of fish you actually catch.

Tip 1 – When it comes to working a river do so in sections.  Never jump in and start fishing in the pot that you think is the best.  Also never fish the part of the river directly where you are wading, instead make your casts into the current and allow the lure or live bait to flow with it until it comes to rest below you finally.  This step should be repeated several times altering the length of your cast so that you cover the water completely.

Tip 2 – If you are using live bait when river fishing remember the bottom of the river is your friend.  What you should be aiming to do when you cast out your line is to get the live bait to bounce off the bottom of the river bed as it drifts through its current naturally.  The best way of achieving this is by making sure that you add the right number of split shot sinkers to the line.  Begin with two and then cast the line out.  If not satisfied add another and another remembering to cast the line out each time you add a further one.  It is going to take practice but after a while you will be able to tell the difference between your lure hitting the bottom and actually it being bitten.

Top Ten Reasons That People Choose Private Medical Health Insurance

Research from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) showed that the uptake of private medical insurance (PMI) is on the rise and that around 7,335,000 people now have some form of private health cover in the UK.

Nick Starling, the ABI’s Director of General Insurance and Health, said of the trend: “The continued rise in the number of people covered by PMI is good news. PMI gives people the peace of mind that they are able to get access to the treatment they need, at the time they need it, where they need it.

“PMI is good for companies and the economy because it enables employees to get back to work after illness or injury as quickly as possible. This is why there has been a continued rise in the number of people covered by corporate policies.”

Further research from a different organisation polled those who have private medical health insurance on their reasons for doing so.

If you don’t already have health cover, here are a few things you might want to consider – the top ten reasons that people choose private healthcare policies.

1. Cleaner hospitals
More people are investing in private health insurance because of fears about hospital cleanliness and hospital ‘superbugs’ such as MRSA and C.difficile. They believe that private hospitals are cleaner and thus safer.

2. Faster access to specialists
Many people choose private healthcare as it gives them peace of mind, knowing that if they need to see a specialist for any reason, they will be seen quickly. Although research has shown that the NHS meets its 18-week targets, 80% of people in Britain still feel that is still too long to wait for treatment.

3. No waiting lists/less pain
Of course being seen quickly has the advantage that you’ll be in pain for less time. Additionally, often the sooner you are treated, the less chance there is of long-term or recurring problems.

4. Faster recovery
A faster recovery was important to many of the research participants. Recovering quickly means you’ll feel better sooner and also you’ll have to take less time off work.

5. Ability to see same consultant
Being able to see the same consultant through private healthcare is important to many people as it gives them continuity of care and reassurance.

6. Better quality treatment/advice
Some people feel that they are given a better quality of service and treatment when they are treated privately.

7. Ability to choose location to suit you
Private healthcare appeals to many people because of the choice and flexibility it gives them over where they receive their treatment. With a private treatment plan you’ll be able to shop around more and choose the treatment provider that suits you.

8. Ability to see specialist at time to suit you
With a private health policy you’ll also have more choice over your appointment dates and times. This means you’ll have more scope to book something that suits you at a time you can definitely make.

9. Faster return to work
Time off work is a worry to employees, the self-employed and employers. It can mean lost money and increased stress for all concerned. With a private healthcare package, you should be back on your feet and at work sooner, saving you money in the long run.

10. More comfortable hospitals
When they are ill, many people value comfort and privacy during their stay in hospital. With a private healthcare policy you’ll get a private room and the option of luxuries such as a TV in your room.

These are the top ten reasons that more and more people are choosing to invest in private healthcare. If any of them matter to you, it might be time to consider private medical health insurance yourself?

Beer Culture & Traditions

Social context

Many social traditions and activities are very associated with drinking beer, such as playing cards, darts, or other games. The consumption of beer in isolation and excess may be associated with people drinking away their troubles, while drinking in excess with company may be associated with binge drinking.

Around the world

All over the world, beer is consumed. There are several breweries in the Middle East countries as well, such as Iraq and Syria. There is also breweries in African countries and other remote countries such as Mongolia as well.

Glassware serving

Getting an appropriate beer glass is considered desirable by some drinkers. There are some drinkers of beer that may sometimes drink out of the bottle or can, while others may choose to pour their beer into a glass. Drinking from a bottle picks up aromas by the nose, so if a drinker wishes to appreciate the aroma of a beer, the beer is first poured into a mug, glass, or stein.

Similar to wine, there is specialized styles of glasses for some types of beer, with some breweries producing glassware intended for their own styles of beer.

Temperature

The conditions for serving beer have a big influence on a drinker’s experiences. An important factor when drinking is the temperature – as colder temperatures will start to inhibit the chemical senses of the tongue and throat, which will narrow down the flavor profile of beer, allow certain lagers to release their crispness.

Pouring

The process of pouring will have an influence on the presentation of beer. The flow rate from the tap, titling of the glass, and position of the pour into the glass will all affect the outcome, such as the size and longevity of the head and the turbulence of the bar as it begins to release the carbonation.

The more heavily carbonated beers such as German pilseners will need settling time before they are served, although many of them are served with the addition of the remaining yeast at the bottom to add extra color and flavor.

Beer rating

The rating of beer is a craze that combines the enjoyment of drinking beer with the hobby of collecting it. Those that drink beer sometimes tend to record their scores and comments on various internet websites.

This is a worldwide activity, as people in the United States will swap bottles of beer with those living in New Zealand and Russia. The scores may then be tallied together to create lists of the most popular beers in each country as well as those throughout the world.
